To All the Rock Zombies Out There...

by Zamisk
I've been talking about this for a while, but I finally got around to doing this. There's a bunch of bands online who want publicity and give their albums away for free. There's some really great stuff out there! You can pay them if you want, but that is up to you.
Meat Lovers Special's (Unofficial) Albums: (Their "Spring" albums is the main album for the mood of this comic)  (Their "Whiskey and Oatmeal" album also sets the mood, but has strong language so be warned)  (Mood music)
Favorites: (One of my favorite albums of all time!) (Amazing.)  (No longer free, but two of the best albums ever for $5 each. Please support this guy. Also, he responds to e-mails and is an amazing dude.)
Other free:
For more check out and There's plenty more out there, so get looking!
Also, I listen to a lot of Ok Go. It's sweet to see a band get so big and then use so much of their money to make sweet music videos for their fans. If you are unfamiliar with Ok Go's music videos, check them out on Youtube. You won't regret it. Enjoy!

Update time! I’m pretty sure I want to keep this comic going after chapter one here, so it could go on for a while. To summarize the entire story of volume 2: Aliens. I’ve improved a lot since I did this comic over a year ago, and I hope it will show. There is still a chance it might not happen, we’ll see how busy things get for me this fall. (I heard a lot of people who go to the art college I am going to are too busy to do their own artwork at all during the first year there.)

I’m also spriting for a video gamesome of my friends are coding, and discussing drawing a comic one of my other friends wants to write, so I’m pretty busy creatively speaking, not to mention two jobs and full time school. We’ll see what happens, though!

Here is some fan art by my internet buddy. Thanks Curry, it looks badass. B)

Here we go!

I started this project a few years ago, but only worked on it on and off, which is why it took so long. I have learned a lot about making comics, and also learned I have a lot to learn. (Cheesy, I know.) (Unintended pun, I know.) The art may be sloppy, the coloring is certainly lazy, and the composition may not always be stellar, but I learned so, so much doing MLS. The best advice I have ever received is "the best way to learn how to make a comic is to make a comic". Well, I did. And I’m sure that pretty soon I’m going to be super embarrassed I was ever proud of this, but that just means I’ll be that much better, which excites me more than anything.
At the moment I have most of this comic done, but I’m still deciding whether or not to continue the story after what I have or move on to bigger and better things. My original plan for the series was to have a new genre for each issue, like zombies, cult town, aliens, ect., but I’m still deciding if that will be the next project I do. I guess we’ll burn that bridge when we get to it. Also, my original plan was to publish this and have physical copies to hand to editors at comic expos, but A) I  have no money and 2) I want something a little more professional for that. I’ll put a paypal donate button on my site eventually so I can harass you for money all the  time instead of charging you just to read it.
Thanks for reading my comic! And by the way… If you want to learn how to do something, go do it!
